Where Science Meets Culture
About
Welcome to Walbunja Warrior
Hello! I’m Adam, the proud owner and founder of Walbunja Warrior, your go-to local tourism and cultural service business here in the Batemans Bay region. Born and raised in this beautiful part of the southeast coast of Australia, I’ve always had a deep passion for sharing its rich cultural and environmental history with visitors from near and far.
Our Mission
At Walbunja Warrior, our mission is simple: to provide unforgettable experiences that showcase the best of Walbunja country.
We aim to deliver cultural services and immersive environmental tours that allow you to discover the unique charm, culture, and beauty of our beloved country.
Walbunja Warrior addresses the urgent need for cultural and environmental healing on Walbunja Country, which spans from the Clyde to Moruya within the Yuin Nation that encompasses the Eurobodalla region in NSW. Our initiative is dedicated to revitalizing traditional land management practices to strengthen resilience against climate-related disasters, such as fires and floods, which have increasingly affected the Eurobodalla region.
By integrating time-honored cultural techniques proven to enhance environmental resilience, we aim to equip communities with essential skills and support to better prepare for and mitigate the impacts of future disasters. Additionally, Walbunja Warrior is committed to promoting the rich cultural heritage of the Walbunja Yuin people through country tours and cultural services. These cultural practices are vital in connecting people to the land and the living traditions of Yuin Country, fostering a strong sense of identity and community.
Walbunja Warrior leads by example, transforming adventures and community engagements into in-kind support for healing Yuin Country. Profits from our activities are reinvested into traditional fire management practices and education, which not only benefit the environment but also raise awareness about the importance of cultural land stewardship. Through these efforts, Walbunja Warrior enhances environmental resilience while empowering local culture and deepening the connection between people and the land.
Meet Adam
Adam, an Indigenous Ranger with thirteen years of experience in cultural practices and environmental reparation, is at the forefront of healing country. He is renowned for his storytelling ability, seamlessly blending environmental science with deep cultural knowledge.
Adam is also the Co-Director/Producer of the award-winning documentary Yana Djamaga Ganji / Walk Good Fire, which raises awareness of traditional Indigenous land management practices to prevent wildfire disasters.
My journey began after school while studying conservation and land management, where I quickly realized my calling to bridge environmental and cultural connections of the Walbunja people on the beautiful lands we call home. This passion led me to establish Walbunja Warrior, where I can create tailor-made adventures that highlight the region’s ancient history and natural treasures.
